Large-Scale Qualitative Modeling for System Prediction
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes a software tool called GROMIT and associated methods being developed by the Statistical Sciences Group (D-1) at Los Alamos National Laboratory in support of determining dependency structures describing large system behavior. While focused on the problem of reliability prediction, the discussion is relevant to other analytic situations such as determining the actors and behaviors necessary to describe a system using agent based approaches. The paper looks at ways to improve the important qualitative reasoning which must occur in developing the structure of dependency connections, rather than on the subsequent quantitative inference or agent dynamic simulation. The focus here is on the question, “How do you know you’ve modeled the right system?” rather than on the following, related, question, “What results did we obtain from statistical or agent based modeling methods?” Contact: Dr. Andrew Koehler MS F600, D-1, Los Alamos National Laboratory Los Alamos, NM, 87545 Tel: 505-667-9513 Fax: 505-667-4470 Email: [email protected]

A Variable Structure Observer Based Control Design for a Class of Large scale MIMO Nonlinear Systems
This paper fully discusses how to design an observer based decentralized fuzzy adaptive controller for a class of large scale multivariable non-canonical nonlinear systems with unknown functions of subsystems’ states. On-line tuning mechanisms to adjust both the parameters of the direct adaptive controller and observer that guarantee the ultimately boundedness of both the tracking error and tha...

In this paper, the theory and modeling of large scale photovoltaic (PV) in the power grid and its effect on power system stability are studied. In this work, the basic module, small signal modeling and mathematical analysis of the large scale PV jointed multi-machine are demonstrated. The principal portion of the paper is to reduce the low frequency fluctuations by tuned stabilizer in the atten...

This paper investigates the problem of decentralized model reference adaptive control (MRAC) for a class of large scale systems with time varying delays in interconnected terms and state and input delays. The upper bounds of the interconnection terms are considered to be unknown. Time varying delays in the nonlinear interconnection terms are bounded and nonnegative continuous functions and thei...
